- Job Duties:
- Receiving stocker calves; checking calf health daily, administer medicine as necessary, portable corrals, feeding, and watering equipment; put calves on cover crops for grazing, move calves from field to field to take full advantage of forage; provide mineral to reduce risk of bloat, provide feed to supplement diet during extremely cold weather; monitor animal health; inspect, maintain, repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; haul water to cattle, break ice in watering facilities; pull calves off cover crop pasture; sell stocker cattle; remove temporary fence and corrals; driving farm vehicle to obtain feed and livestock supplies; minor daily and incidental upkeep to livestock equipment.
