- Job Duties:
- Preparing livestock for birthing, prepare temporary fencing; ensuring existing fence stability and fixing any problem areas; birthing livestock; monitor livestock multiple times daily for any early birthing; pull babies from struggling mothers; monitor mothers and babies multiple times daily; move snow, break ice in watering facilities, ensure hay, salt and mineral blocks availability depending on weather conditions; check all livestock for weather related issues; move livestock to grass pasture in the spring as forage becomes available; remove all temporary fencing; wean babies by separating from mothers; monitor livestock for issues arising from pregnancy; sell weaned young when grass forage availability is depleted.
