The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Workers will be required to operate small tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, balers and ATVs. Workers will also be required to pick up bales of hay and sack feed to put in feeders, dig holes for fence posts and erect fencing, loading and shipping cows, examine and brand or tag livestock, maintain ditches and pastures, and general maintenance of farm equipment. Employees must have basic literacy and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements:
Workers must either have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Three months of experience is required. Drug screening and criminal background checks may be conducted post-hire, at the sole discretion of the employer, at the employer's expense. Failing drug screening may result in immediate termination or other disciplinary actions. Illegal drugs are not permitted on the employer's premises. Workers must be required to lift 100 lbs. Extensive walking will be required when moving livestock.
