The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. - Job Duties:
- We are a robotic dairy farm with 15 operational milking robots. The applicant will perform daily tasks including, but not limited to, gathering, sorting and moving the herd(s) and daily maintenance of the robots. Herd health is essential to our existence as a dairy farm and this encompasses manure management throughout the summer, seasonal clean out of the lagoon(s) in the spring and a complete blow out of the robotic systems in the fall. In addition, as we are seeking an H2A employee for seasonal/ temporary employment, the primary duty requested of you will be crop harvesting. Our dairy farm cannot survive without the planting and harvesting of various crops grown on the farm, namely, wheat, grass/ hay and sorghum. Due to the exceptionally hot Texas summers we had this past two years, this coming year is exceptionally critical for harvesting grass and hay. We are hiring a seasonal worker to assist us in normal daily tasks of the dairy farm, but, most importantly, the quarterly harvesting of certain crops on the farm. Crops are harvested between January, 2024 until September, 2024. Wheat - January through May Grass/ hay - May through August Sorghum - August through September The majority of the employees labor will be devoted to crop harvesting/ gathering and feeding during the day.
