The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Job requires operating a grain storage facility by disposing of spoiled grain; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; monitoring grain to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards; preparing scale tickets; shoveling grain; transferring grain to proper storage location; clearing grain from automatic conveyor system that is causing jams, stoppages, or gaps in grain movement; performing maintenance & minor miscellaneous repair on augers, grain bins and other tools involved with the storage of grain; performing housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained; and maintaining outside grounds and property perimeter which includes but is not limited to: weed removal and control, lawn care, and driveway maintenance. Job requires being able to climb a vertical grain leg. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on grain and weather conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
