The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Prepping barns and fences for winter. Feeding the cattle. Pregnancy check the herd. Working and vaccinating the cattle. Weaning the calves. Shipping calves to market. Snow removal. Opening frozen tanks. Prepping barns and lots for calving season. Calving begins in February, runs through April. Cleaning barns. Branding. Moving cattle to summer pasture at end of season.
