Job Description

- Job Duties:
- Assist in birth deliveries; Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain; Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations; Wean calves; Push, load, move manure with front end loader, skid steer during winter months; Shovel manure by hand; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals and fertilizer to fields; Add water and aerate manure; Assist with composting manure for two months while manure turns into fertilizer; Move composted fertilizer into piles; Load fertilizer onto truck; Move composted manure to fields in the spring; Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fence; Segregate cattle to be sorted and sold.
