- Job Duties:
- Dounoco Land Company owns 140 acres of Blueberry orchards, and the blueberry plants are dormant from December through February. This is the only time of the year that dead or diseased plants may be removed and replaced with new plants. This is a time consuming and labor-intensive task that must be completed during the dormant life cycle of the blueberry plants. Job duties will include: dig, cut, and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees, and shrubs, inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress, move containerized shrubs, plants, and trees, using wheelbarrows or tractors, operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, clean equipment or facilities, operate farming equipment, operate irrigation systems, plant crops, or other plants. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
