Job Duties:
Crops/Commodities: diversified grain/vegetables. This job requires a minimum of 12 months of verifiable work experience handling mechanized tasks associated with the installation, repair and servicing of agricultural irrigation equipment . Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. All work activities are performed on-site at the farm location(s) described in Addendum B. Install, service and repair agricultural irrigation equipment on farms for the irrigation of crops including, but not limitedto corn, hay, chilies, beans, cotton, cactus, milo, oats, wheat. Must be able to perform all tasks safely, and complete the tasks efficiently. Must operate agricultural equipment safely, with or without direction. Repair and maintain service truck and stock with inventory. Keep work orders organized and accurate. Supervise, instruct and demonstrate tasks to other employees, who will be assisting the Technician in daily tasks. Install, service and maintain the following: Pivots: Install, service, and repair pivots from brands including Zimmatic, Valley and Reinke. Troubleshoot physical issues, including but not limited to electrical and/or mechanical problems. Repair machines; work with programming issues in Fieldnet or on the computer module at the pivot point. Worker must carry phone while on premises at all times in case he needs to call for technical support when diagnosing problems with a center pivot, well panel or Fieldnet issue. Must be able to repair any issue with a pivot. Well panels: Starter Panels: These are panels that only have a series of relays, timers and one or two starters (large contactors) that send full power to the motor. Install, service, and repair starter panels from brands including Seamans, General Electric and Allen Bradley. Soft Starts: Soft Start well panels are panels that when started, the motor does not send the motor full voltage. It eases into the start, then closes a contactor, sending the full voltage to the motor. Install, service and repair soft starts from brands including Benshaw, Allen Bradley and Franklin. VFD: Variable Frequency Drives have the ability to change the frequency of the motor so that the motor's speed can be slowed down and sped up, similar to the throttle of an engine. Installed, service and repair drives from brands including Danfoss, Mitsubishi, Schneider and Yaskawa. Watertonics Panels: All of the Watertonics panels have either a Schneider or Mitsubishi VFD in them; however, most of the Watertonics panels have a PLC that controls the drive, handles reading the pressure and the flow. Watertonics panels that have been automated with DDC the master PLC controls what the slave wells do. The control is based off of logic written in the PLD that is based on the damand of pressure and flow from the pivot through Fieldnet so it will turn on and off pumps, as needed. Communication: Service Technician will install, service and maintain the following three types of communication used in center pivots and well panels: Ethernet: Workers will install Ethernet cables for the automated Watertonics panels. Worker must maintain the system and keep it up and running along with new installs of subscriber radios on new sites. 900MHZ: The majority of communication for the pivots and some of the well panels use 900MHZ radios. Cellular Radios: Some of the pivots and many of the well panels have cellular RTUs that are used for Fieldnet. Work is done in the field for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking.

Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing required. Clean driving record required. Must have or be able to obtain driver's license within 30 days of hire.
