- Job Duties:
- Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Wean young; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to swath, rake, bale, hay and to distribute hay, feed to animals; Move livestock from one location to another; Clean and maintain animal housing areas; Wean and sort cattle for sale; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair equipment, facilities, buildings, pens, yards, and fences.
