Job Duties:
Seasonal fish trimmers and processors needed for farmer owned fish plant to process fish. Workers will use knives and personal protective equipment related to fish trimming. The process working environment is refrigerated and wet. Workers will be trained to process untrimmed, primary parts into cuts that are ready for further processing and packing. Worker’s performance technique and speed will be monitored for yield and quality. Workers will clean and accurately remove parts such as: skin, fins, viscera and bones from fillets or nuggets, and quality inspect the fish products for defects, bruises, tears or blemishes. Workers will separate trimmed fillets and nuggets onto belts and rework or by-products into specified containers. Employees will be allowed 45 minutes unpaid for lunch each day. Work takes place Monday-Friday and there may be optional Saturday overtime offered. The job will fluctuate between 35-50 hours per week. Overtime will be paid at time and a half over 40 hours in a work week. The employment is on a full-time temporary basis. The worker will be paid on the following Friday after every work week Employer will provide tools, equipment and PPE. The company will provide PPE consisting of: gloves, sleeves, apron, smocks, hair nets, safety glove, sharp knives and safety glasses. It is employee’s responsibility to retain/store/sanitize PPE and exchange for replacements as needed.” Water proof footwear and warm layered clothing is recommended.
