- Job Duties:
- Monitor workers to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations.
Will oversee the quality, of work performed by the workers, Will drive the workers to and from the work site(s)
Will drive the workers to the store and laundry mat in order for the workers to get weekly supplies and wash their clothes
Train workers in techniques in packing, and boxing line work for sweet potato line.
Schedule work crews, equipment, or transportation for work locations. Drive a bus transporting workers to the work site. Perform both supervisory and management functions for personnel workers. Inspect the work quality of the workers. Confer with managers to determine production requirements, conditions of equipment and supplies, and work schedules. Prepare and maintain time or payroll reports, as well as details of personnel actions, such as performance, or disciplinary action Monitor operations to identify and solve problems, improve work methods, and ensure compliance with safety, company, and government regulations. Plan work schedules according to personnel and equipment availability Will supervise all workers in the different related jobs of the packing house as follows: Grade, sort, and package sweet potatoes grown on the farm. Workers may work in packing, shipping, maintenance, box, or food safety departments. Workers stack, weigh, and dump produce. May hand-fill boxes or bags with produce. May label or tag produce. Make boxes. Create and follow load tickets and other forms. Prepare inventory, logs, and reports. Perform sanitation duties. May operate forklift or pallet jack. May operate and perform minor maintenance on farm vehicles or equipment. May supervise other workers. Supervise all workers to follow the required common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly important when packing produce for human consumption.
