- Job Duties:
- Duties will include mainly planting, watering, weeding, pruning, cleaning, administering pesticides and herbicides, and performing general maintenance of nursery stock. Nursery stock will include shrubs, trees, palms, agaves, aloes, euphorbia, cacti. Workers may use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, shears, watering equipment, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers. Duties may include loading and unloading nursery stock on yard trailers, delivery trucks, and customer trucks as well as shifting and replanting nursery stock from one planting container to the next, larger planting container. Some operating of farm equipment may be required. Duties may include irrigation repair; construction or repair of greenhouses or shade structures; and development of new growing areas.
