IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WAGES FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL JOBS
The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. I farm 2500 acres of cotton, corn, wheat, and milo. 1400 acres is irrigated farmland. This consists of sprinkler pivots and drip irrigation. The remaining 1100 acres is dryland. Most of my acres each year are grown in cotton. We need a seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of growing these crops. Employee will need to operate and maintain farm equipment. This will include driving tractors, cotton strippers, combine, and sprayer. The tractor driving will consist of plowing, planting, shredding, spraying, and dirt moving. Will be required to clean, service, and maintain the equipment on a regular basis. Will need to be capable of operating newer John Deere equipment. Employee will also need to do maintenance and service Irrigation systems. This will include sprinkler pivots, drip irrigation systems and irrigation wells. Knowledge about electricity is important. All forms of manual labor and general farm duties needed on the farm. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license and 3 months experience.
