IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WAGES FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL JOBS
The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. We farm approximately 12,000-acres of dry wheat, milo, and corn. We also farm 500-acres of irrigated alfalfa. We need a seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of planting, raising, harvesting, and hauling these crops. Employee will need to checking irrigation wells and sprinklers daily, operating equipment during tillage including sweep plows, disks, chisels. Employee will need to operate equipment during spring and fall planting including air seeders both no-till and hoe drill and planters. Employee will also need to operate equipment during harvest including combine, grain cart, grain truck. During slower periods employee will need to complete equipment maintenance, mowing both with large tractors or lawn tractors and clean equipment and/or the facilities. Complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial truck driving is required. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
