- Pond Fork Farms is a large farming operation in Western KY. We plant and harvest corn, soybeans and wheat. We also have a livestock operation consisting of approximately 600 cows and calves. We are requesting seasonal help from February through November because these are the busiest months. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, manure spreaders, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping, inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress, operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. We only need employees to assist with our cattle in February and March. In February a March employees will need to drop off round bales for the cattle on occasion. In March we need to work cattle, vaccinate and treat cattle for illness before they are released to pasture. After they are released no further care or assistance will be needed with cattle. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
