- Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including working with poly pipe and spillways in flood irrigation; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as sprayer, cotton picker, combine, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, cotton, rice, soybeans, wheat; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm.; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping including mowing, weed eating, spraying; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools; Assess field conditions and crop conditions to aid with setting and adjusting machine settings such as tillage depth, down pressure, opener depth, sprayer rates and tank mixes, threshing settings for combines, and cotton picker settings. The driving duties requested by this application are those consistent with the tasks outlined by 45-2092 which include machinery operated by the workers such as combines, sprayers, trucks, loaders, four wheel drive tractors with carts, trailers, planter/seeders, or tillage tools attached, pickups, UTVs, etc. Those pieces of machinery have weights ranging from 1,500 to 90,000 lbs, generally travel at slow speeds over short distances, and do not require any experience, licensing, or training above those normal and accepted under SOC Code 45-2092.
