Job Duties:

Job requires the operation of farm equipment tractors, sprayers, grain carts, field cultivator, turbo chopper, combines, hopper bottom, lawn mower, and trucks to till and plow soil, cultivate, plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, harvest, and haul crops. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Equipment will also be operated to perform dirt work in the employer owned/controlled fields. Workers will be required to load seed into planters; clean and service field and grain handling equipment; disposing of spoiled grain and chopping grass out of fields; perform minor mechanic work; operate mowers and weed eaters; maintain and service irrigation equipment such as pivots and pumps; laying irrigation piping in fields; cleaning and maintaining irrigation ditches; walking fields to check and maintain adequate water supply to crops; operate equipment required to run the grain storage facilities such as grain bins, dryers, and baggers; perform mechanic work; perform general maintenance; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery, specialized machinery and agricultural equipment including grain augers; and hauling water to sprayers. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Special Requirements:

Applicants must have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic literacy and math skills are required. Criminal background checks and random drug screenings may be done post-hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to the public. Whether or not these screenings or checks are conducted will be the sole discretion of the employer. The job will require lifting objects that could weigh up to 100 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures is usually around pivots in the summer, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting will occur when operating tractors, extensive walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements will be possible at any time while working.
