Job Duties:

The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Workers will be charged for any willful damage or loss of such tools and equipment. GREENHOUSE: Workers may seed plant trays. Workers may clean and wash plant trays. Workers may apply water and fertilizers to plants in trays. Workers may clip and mow plants. Workers may load plant trays onto trucks and wagons. HORTICULTURAL/NURSERY: Workers may seed plant trays, water, pull weeds from trays. Workers may clean greenhouse area. Workers may water and apply fertilizers to trays. Workers may set, plant and transplant, trees, and shrubs. Workers may clip & prune nursery stock. Workers may separate plants, ball, and wrap or pot. Workers may load and unload from trucks or wagons for shipping. Workers may work and prepare ground for next crop. Workers may discard and remove old stock from pots or fields. Workers may clean work area for next day?s work. HORTICULTURAL/ SOD FARM: Workers may apply seeds to fields, by hand or equipment. Workers may clean and prepare fields for planting. Workers may water and apply fertilizers, as needed. Workers may cultivate fields, by hand or equipment. Workers may clip or mow sod fields. Workers may cut, roll, stack, and prepare sod for shipping. Workers may roll sod and load and unload trucks. Workers may work fields to prepare for next crop. Workers may clean work area for next day?s work.

Alternative Work: This could include workers preparing barns, preparing land for planting, draining fields, maintenance of tools and equipment, and other work that is directly related to growing tobacco or crop and activities for which the worker was hired. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities stated above. Alternative work may only be required if the first week wage guarantee listed in 20 CFR 653.501 is invoked
