Job Duties:

CDL Driver's main responsibilities are to load/unload and spot the grass as needed and deliver sod (grass) to customers in the DFW area. Drivers will be contacted by company dispatcher daily to inform them of the number of loads to be delivered, which farm the loads are to be hauled from, and when the loads are to be picked up. Each morning the dispatcher gives instructions for the load to be delivered that afternoon, and for the load to be delivered the next morning. The dispatcher will explain any special instructions and notify the driver when changes arise. The driver will receive a PO for each load which designates the delivery address, the number of pallets to be unloaded at each address, spotting instructions, and other information specific to that load. This will be found on the Turflogistics App which is a free downloadable phone app the drivers will be required to use. Drivers will perform a daily pre-trip inspection of their truck, trailer and donkey and complete inspection sheet to file in designated location.

Special Requirements:

Sun-Fri, avg 40 hrs/wk. Schedule and start/end times will vary depending on driver's efficiency. 6 months experience required driving freightliners. Must have or be able to obtain a CDL driver's license or foreign equivalent license that is recognized in the U.S.. Training and certification required on how to operate a donkey forklift . Training conducted by the employer. Motor Vehicle Report required. Must be accessible by cell phone between 7am and 6pm, and always during the delivery. Must be able to speak/understand English. Pre-hire background check required. All background checks are performed equally as to U.S. workers and H-2A workers, and all fees are paid for by the company. Random drug testing during employment. Pre-employment drug testing required. Post-accident drug testing. All drug testing is performed without regard to an employees citizenship or immigration status, and all testing is paid for by the company.
