Job Duties:

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as unloading and loading at dryers, leveling bins with scoop, probe and fumigate in bins; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment such as flood irrigate using levees maintained with shovel, install and remove plastics in levees; Scout, pull weeds, & off plants in flooded rice fields & row crop fieIds; Drain water in fields using a shovel; Row irrigate using poly pipe & laterals; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as grain cart, combine, cotton picker, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray, shred, and harvest crops such as corn, grain, hay, sorghum, soybeans, & rice; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping including mowing and cleaning in and around barns and bins; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools.
