- Job Duties:
- Farm Hands will be responsible for seeding, planting, cultivating, hand weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing a mixed variety of flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Will also be responsible for setup, operation, and basic maintenance of irrigation systems to water crops. Will apply pesticides and otherwise support the implementation of the farms? integrated pest management plan. Tools include mostly hand tools, except for string trimmers used to terminate cover crops and maintain greenspaces around fields. Work requires repetitive movements and frequent stooping and bending to work at ground level to tend to crops. Anticipated crops include the following: beans, beets, cabbage, carrots, celery and celeriac, Chinese cabbage, collards, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, fennel, garlic, greens, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, microgreens, onions, peas, peppers, potatoes, radishes, spinach, squash, swiss chard, and tomatoes.
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am ? 5:00pm, with a 30- minute lunch break. Work hours and schedule may vary. May offer weekend and/or holiday shifts during peak times.
