- Job Duties:
- Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment such as checking water wells and circle systems; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and primarily Case IH and John Deere self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as planter, cotton stripper, peanut digger, combine, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attend to live farm animals; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools.
