Job Duties:

All Activities: Workers will perform all job specifications as instructed by the Farm Manager or Crew Supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time and may include all of the following job specifications. The employees will perform any combination of the following tasks: Prepare soil and growth medium; haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, lime and other soil conditions on sod grass and turf areas. This does not include work with herbicides/pesticides, the employer only allows licensed managers to work with these products. Workers will dig, rake, and screen soil; fill tanks with water and handle irrigation equipment; sow grass seed; cut, roll, and stack sod; load and unload trucks; operate mowers, forklifts and sod cutters. When work in sod is not available, workers may be offered other general agricultural duties associated with sod farming including building and equipment maintenance, repairing fences and similar tasks. On occasion workers may operate farm equipment and other motor equipment. Qualification: Employees must have the ability to understand and carry out oral instructions; have the physical ability to perform various manual tasks; as well as the ability to learn to use and/or operate light motor equipment. Education: Sufficient to follow oral instructions Job Location and Work Conditions: Work is performed outdoors in various field locations on the farm which exposure workers to all temperature and weather extremes (i.e. heat, rain, wind, cold, and dusty conditions), moving equipment, loud noises, wetness, dust, fumes, and requires walking on soft much and hard and uneven surfaces.
