Job Duties:

Perform irrigation duties, including irrigating crops with booster pumps and moving in-out sprinkler systems. Clean fields and ditches. Operate tractors and farm equipment. Weeding with crew. Harvest with harvest machine, tractor and trailers. Harvest various crops by hand with crew. Perform sanitation duties, including washing and disinfecting farm equipment. Driving a company vehicle may be necessary. Valid CA driver license required to drive company vehicles. Crops: lettuce, romaine lettuce, green and red leaf, Frise, baby spinach, baby green and red spring mix, multi-leaf, kale, arugula, mizuna    CAL VAN/VAN DRIVER SPECIFICATIONS:            Employees may drive Cal Vans (not busses) over the road.             Employees transport workers from housing sites and take them to an assigned work site and at the end of the workday takes them back to the housing site. Employee will also work in the assigned crew.            In order to drive a Cal Van, Employee must possess a valid drivers’ license (state issued).

Special Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications: 3 months harvest experience in any commodity listed. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently. Work is performed outdoors in open fields and can involve exposure to sun, wind, mud, dust, heat, cold and other elements of the normal outdoor grove environment. Temperatures can range from 20 degrees F to over 100 degrees F during the period of employment. Workers should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the work and working conditions described. The costs of obtaining a valid state driver's license will be the responsibility of the employer, if necessary. The drivers will be compensated for tasks performed beginning when they leave their housing at the beginning of the day, and ending when they return to their housing at the end of the day. This includes: driving time, processing paperwork, trips to the gas station, cleaning the vehicle, etc.
