- Job Duties:
- Pick rocks; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Wash, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment such as light welding; Inform farm manager of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery such as swather, baler, rake, stacker, loader to fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as hay; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities; Clean work areas and shop; Mow grass, spray weeds; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions into machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Hours will vary based on weather/crop conditions, haying often occurs at night at correct moisture content.
