Job Duties:

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: hoe or pull weeds; stake and apply tying twine between stakes; repair blown up or damaged plastic; mechanical and hand planting of plants in fields or re-seeding; remove stakes from ground; field clean up and plastic mulch clean-up; cut and pick up string; fill, lay out and load vegetable flats/seed flats; lay black/white and tunnel plastic; jointly lift up to 120lbs of plastic from truck; hook up and maintain drip irrigation and drainage; roll up tunnel plastic after/during planting process; general tillage work; hand harvest to quality standards of cucumbers, jalapenos, serranos, poblanos, banana peppers, cubanelle peppers, anaheim peppers, tomatillo, tomato, zucchini, bell pepper, and pickles; general packing/cleaning activities; record information about time and crops, such as pesticides/fertilizers used, and create cleaning/sanitation logs, pallet tag identifications, and shipping bills; and if worker is eligible to driver under Michigan law, has proper license endorsement and provides proof of no infraction from official source, Employer may require worker to complete the following: drive and operate trucks, tractors or other agricultural equipment such as forklifts on farm worksite premises only; spray crops with tractor and spray attachment; drive employer provided vehicles to haul farm workers; transport trailers to and from farm worksites as directed; move trailers throughout field/loading area to allow harvest crew to put harvested product on trailer; monitor harvested product loaded on trailer by harvest crew.

Special Requirements:

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor, packing and the harvest of: cucumbers, jalapenos, serranos, poblanos, banana peppers, cubanelle peppers, anaheim peppers, tomatillo, tomato, zucchini, bell pepper, and pickles. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties. Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable months commercial agricultural experience with a vegetable base required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Drug testing done at employers' expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.
