- Job Duties:
- Harvest seasonal fruit or vegetables such as strawberry by hand. Perform cultivating tasks such as preparing soil, freeing soil from extraneous weeds by hand weeding. This requires walking in rows and bending over to pull weeds out (please note, the employer abides by CA Code Regulations, Title 8, Section 3456). Placing plants into soil, re-planting when needed. Pick fruit from plants according to size, color, shape and degree of maturity. May separate fruit according to size in uniformity and place in clear containers after picking. Keep count of harvested and loaded crops, ensure accuracy of all counts, record keeping , overage, shortage. Remove plastic and drip tape from strawberry rows.
