- Clover Hill Dairy is family owned, 2500 cow dairy operation, with an additional 1500 beef animals. We farm 3500 acres of land for the purpose of feeding our animals. Our cropping/field prep season goes from March through December. We need a seasonal employee to assist with our crop production season. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, manure spreaders, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, record agricultural data, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employee will also need to apply manure to field using drag hoses. Employee will need to complete mechanic job duties including lean and lubricate parts, dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools, drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery, fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools, maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems, reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary, record details of repairs made and parts used., repair bent or torn sheet metal, repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws, test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools, tune or overhaul engines, adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance, adjust vehicle components according to specifications, clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order, disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair, fabricate parts or components, inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear, install machine or equipment replacement parts, lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning, maintain repair or maintenance records, move large objects using heavy equipment, reassemble equipment after repair, repair defective engines or engine components, repair pipes to stop leaking, repair structural components, repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts, replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts, service vehicles to maintain functionality, and test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
