Job Duties:

Operate tractors, trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Not all workers are requested to drive; drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. No one will be rejected for the position that does not possess a class D license. Under direction of supervisor, worker will perform any combination of tasks involved in the operation of tractors and farm equipment for the purpose of tilling soil, mowing grass, cutting brush, planting young trees and plants, spraying fruit trees and plants. Pick apples during harvest. Use tractors and trucks on farm property to move equipment and supplies such as irrigation pipes and pumps, smudging equipment, fertilizer, ladders, bins and other supplies for harvest workers. Move empty bins around orchard for use by pickers and transport full bins of fruit from orchard to packing shed or storage facility. Operate engines and pumps for irrigation and move, set up, and start fans or smudge pots for frost protection. Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Due to health and safety concerns on a farm, worker must understand basic instructions in English. While working in the field, cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in this order. The activities outlined in the job description will be conducted solely on the worksite which is owned and operated by the employer.

The employer will not guarantee to pay the workers a bonus but reserves the right, at the employers sole discretion, to offer a bonus or to pay an hourly wage rate in excess of the highest applicable rate stated above based on longevity of tenure or exceptional job performance.
