- Job Duties:
- The Senior UNITEC Mechanic/UNITEC Operator's job duties will consist of: Managing all UNITEC packing line maintenance and trouble shooting, cleaning, installation, and repair of equipment; Managing all M&R packing line mechanics, including overseeing their recruitment, selection, training, and coaching; Reviewing all UNITEC recommendations and quotes for maintenance, parts, and repairs, make recommendations to management, and supervise work by UNITEC employees; Successfully delegate duties and assume responsibility for outcomes; Operating a variety of hand and power tools; Work alongside employees as needed; Following the daily packing line schedule by selecting the correct cherry quality, quantity, box size and top, and confirming accuracy of label information (for example, cherry variety, cherry size, grower lot number, customer information); Complying with health and safety regulations, food safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices, and any COVID-19 protocols; Monitor second grade cherries and culls to confirm proper use of UNITEC Cherry Vision 3.0 technology; Observe packing line employees to ensure quality and conformity of packed product is according to specifications; Ensuring proper inspection and removal of defective product and packing material; Ensuring constant supply of packing material to conveyors and other feeding devices; Confirming that count and record of finished and rejected packaged items is accurate; Monitoring the production line, watching for problems such as pileups, jams, etc; Performing minor repairs and maintenance; make minor adjustments to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides; and regulate machine flow and speed; Establishing respectful working relationships with M&R Company employees, UNITEC employees/representatives, packing house leads, other vendors, and USDA and San Joaquin County inspectors.
This position will require occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs with assistance of co-workers or lifting device.
Employer will provide at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
The Senior UNITEC Mechanic/UNITEC Operator will work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:35 PM, with 35 minute meal break. However, during the peak cherry season (April 15, 2024 to June 15, 2024), the Senior UNITEC Mechanic/UNITEC Operator may be offered additional work, or overtime, in which case Employer will pay overtime and double time.
There will be five (5) paid sick leave days as required by California law and pursuant to Company policy. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance on the first of the month after 30 days of employment with the Company. Life insurance is at no cost to the employee. The Company pays 80% of medical insurance premium for the employee and employee’s dependents. The Company pays 15% of dental and vision insurance for the employee and employee’s benefits. Will have two weeks paid vacation.
