- Job Duties:
- Operating self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops such as wheat, corn, milo, sunflowers, soybeans, hay; performing manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; performing safety checks on equipment; maintaining and repairing equipment and other tools; driving tractor with grain cart or truck with trailer for transporting crops to storage areas, and transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another; recording information about crops such as yields; directing and monitoring work during harvesting; participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage of crops; cleaning work areas and maintaining grounds; While a CDL is not required for workers that operate or repair machinery, workers that drive truck to transport crops from fields to storage and machines from field to field may possess a CDL.
