Job Duties:

Workers will perform all duties involved in plant beds, planting and general sweet potato farm labor. The work in plant beds includes an occasional use of knives to hand cut the plants, place in containers and onto a trailer. Workers will use care when working with knives. The work in planting sweet potatoes requires workers to feed the plants onto the device which turns and places plants into the ground. Some of the workers performing the job of planting the potato plants are sitting on the planter, while others may be walking behind the planters to spot plant where machinery has failed. Duties listed above may require work on Saturday and Sunday based on the following explanation. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop, or other conditions beyond the employer's control. General farm work is also included. All tools will be provided at no extra cost. Workers must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and work in extreme temperatures. Workers will be orientated and instructed on all aspects of safety. Repeated failure to obey safety requirements may result in termination. No experience is required.

Repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, and frequent stooping is required.
