- Job Duties:
- Operate large farm equipment and machinery equipped with GPS such as tractor, grain cart, combine, tillage tool for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, moving, storing, harvesting grain and oilseed crops such as soybeans, wheat, corn; Record information about crops; Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain inventory; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Operate grain bins and augers; General farm work; Drive farm vehicle; Minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite. Mow and trim grass, weeds and trees as needed; assist other farm workers with tasks; not permitted to smoke in vehicles or buildings; generate and maintain current and future maintenance tasks, maintain and organize tools.
