Job Description

- Job Duties:
- Plant, pot, cultivate and harvest various types of trees and shrubs grow in fields on 200 acre Catawba Tree Farm. Workers will also spray approved chemicals to control pests, weeds and diseases. Employer will issue appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as appropriate. Work includes pinching, pruning, fertilizing, watering, rooting, weeding, loading, transporting, discarding, rotating, grading, storing, and field grown trees and shrubs according to supervisor's instructions. Harvesting includes digging up products, balling and securing delicate dirt and root systems in burlap secured with rope, pins or wire, to be stored until ready for shipment. Grading is done by size, shape, and quality. Products are measured and tied for storage and shipment. Workers will maintain and operate farm equipment as needed. Workers will also load and unload supplies from trucks and or wagons.
