Job Duties:

Must be able to work long hours, standing for long periods of time and in all types of weather conditions (cold, heat, wind, wet, etc.) Drivers will ensure their forklift is fully operational by completing the forklift checklist each day and inform office personnel of any malfunctions. Responsibilities include bringing undamaged empty pallets to the palletizer, transport pallets full of onion bags to the bag wrappers and store those pallets in the queue location for shipping. They are also responsible for bringing in empty cull bins and removing them from production lines, after they are full of onions. Focus will be the load/unload trucks with product or material. Other tasked duties include bringing empty bins from the exterior of the building and placing them in queue for the bin fillers; Removing full bins from bin fillers and store them into the dry room; Place empty bins in semi-truck trailer beds and download incoming raw product bins from the farms; Transport dried onion bins to feed the production line and removing empty bins from dumping areas to stack them; The driver will have to collect onion pallets and ensure proper color and size is being selected from the queue location to supply shipping docks. Finally, at the end of their shift, the driver is expected to clean and sanitize their forklift. Workers must report any machinery issues back to management and perform general machinery maintenance, ensure equipment is ready & working properly; report if maintenance or repairs are needed. Additionally, assist in pre and post season maintenance equipment maintenance and cleaning. Workers will also operate or tend to trash truck used to transport cull onions to dump area. Adjust, repair and service equipment and notify supervisors when machine malfunctions. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect any equipment malfunctions. Operate and tend to onion sizer, used to size onions designated to each packing line. Oversee maintenance and mechanical & equipment repairs to onion cup sizer. Oversee quantity and flow of onion product to packing lines.
