Job Duties:

O.P. Murphy & Sons is a grower of green tomatoes. Various duties and positions are covered by this clearance order and are listed below: Box Stackers: To stack 25 lb. boxes from the conveyor to the pallets. Also required to lift empty pallets weighing 45 lbs. The following qualifications are preferred to successfully accomplish this position: A. Walking and Standing for up to 8-12 hours a day. B. Using consistent hand movement. C. Reaching and Stretching D. Able to do consistent bending and crouching. E. Able to lift 25 lbs. Duties and Responsibilities: A. You are required to allow yourself enough time so that you will be in your position when the packing line begins. You are responsible to call an hour before if you will be late; if you do not and you are tardy you will be given a verbal warning. 2nd tardy will be a written warning and the 3rd will be a written warning or grounds for dismissal. IMPORTANT: You must strictly obey all operating and safety rules. Please also refer to the IIPP/Heat Stress and all other safety information either given to you or at the bulletin board area. B. Your job duty is to lift 25 lbs. boxes off a conveyor and place them on a pallet. You will stack eight layers of ten boxes per layer on each pallet. (80 boxes). The stacks must be straight. The packing foreman will show you the position the boxes must be on the pallet. C. You will be working with an average of 10 other stackers. Each hour you must rotate your positions. D. At times when the line is running slow, you may be asked to clean around your area and pick up tomatoes that have fallen on the floor. These tomatoes must be disposed of in the garbage. E. You are required to give your co-workers assistance when needed. F. At the end of the shift you must remain in your position until the last box traveling on the conveyor is stacked. G. You may also be required to do additional tasks when requested by the supervisor. IV. Special Requirements:

Workers must have 3 month with experience in agricultural work. Workers must have a valid, insurable drivers license or be eligible to apply for same at no cost to the worker. Workers with a clean MVR and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may be requested to drive company vehicles. Eligible workers may be asked to drive other workers with Cal Vans. All new employees are subject to a post-hire, employer-paid drug test. Any employee who declines to take or fails this drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Certain duties on this agricultural clearance order may require workers to lift and carry up to 100lbs, but the minimum requirement for this occupation is 50lbs.
