- Job Duties:
- Observe machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, notify mechanics or supervisor if any problems arise with cutters, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, specifically setting head with proper knife tension and angle and installing head onto cutters. Set proper aperture off white board and change aperture based off pulled kernels. Keep washer screens and drain screen clean, monitor waste and water separation, proper function of hi-cores and spray bars, ensure overflow screen is in place, operate hose, check for build up, maintain a clean working area. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines, and guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines. Align the cob for proper cutting, operate hoses for cleaning, clean head after each use, and ensure cutters are free of plug-ups. Remove foreign materials, keep deck grating free of hazards, and maintain floor are free of debris.
Must be able to work weekends and other shifts, work effectively in a team environment, communicate well with others. Worker must be able to stand the following movements: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, pulling/pushing, reaching, hand/eye coordination, finger/wrist dexterity, grasping/pinching, lifting up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work in hot or humid conditions, noisy, dusty, or wet conditions. Work is performed in 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week work week, rotating days off. Shifts vary, schedule varies. Shifts are available Mon-Sun, 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.
