Job Duties:

Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Water crops; Evaluate crop stages; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as rice, hay; Maintain grounds and landscaping; Maintain inventory; Repair farm buildings and fences; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers.
