Job Duties:

Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate large farm equipment and machinery (much of which is equipped with RTK GPS) like S series John Deere combine, sprayer, cotton picker, front wheel and four wheel assist tractor, pickup, UTV, etc. for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, spraying, planting, moving, storing, harvesting grain and oilseed crops such as corn, rice, grain sorghum; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Assist with the operation of irrigation systems for watering crops; Prepare combines and headers for harvest; Operate sprayers such as John Deere 4038 with 120’ booms for applying burn down on grain sorghum; Drive farm vehicle such as pickup or service truck to obtain items like fertilizer, seed, machine parts.
