Job Duties:
Agricultural Products to harvest: wheat, corn, milo, peanuts, green beans, sweet corn Duties to include the following: Irrigation maintenance General repair and maintenance of farm machinery Operate tractors and harvest equipment (peanut combine, grain combine machines). Tractors have a gross vehicle capacity under 26,000 lbs and do NOT require a commercial driver’s license to operate Harvest and plant by hand when necessary General farm maintenance, including sporadic weeding Clean equipment Haul fertilizer to individual irrigation systems using agricultural equipment on the farm May transport equipment from farm to farm All employees in this position (H-2A as well as corresponding domestic workers), will be given the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license (DL) on a voluntary basis.  The DL is not a pre-hire job requirement.  No job applicant will be denied an employment opportunity due to a lack of a DL at the time of application and/or hiring.   Further, no worker (H-2A or corresponding domestic worker) will be terminated for failure to obtain a DL.   Itinerary: May: prep ground for and plant peanuts; harvest wheat, sweet corn, and green beans; irrigate corn, milo, and peanuts June: finish planting peanuts; irrigate corn, milo and peanuts July: irrigate corn, milo and peanuts; harvest corn and milo August: irrigate peanuts; harvest corn and milo; clean and service harvest equipment September: irrigate peanuts October: irrigate peanuts; begin digging peanuts and harvesting peanuts November: finish irrigating peanuts; continue digging and harvesting peanuts December: finish peanut harvest; clean and service all peanut equipment; prep all tillage and planting equipment January: plant wheat for cover crop or harvest; irrigate wheat; prep ground for spring crops

Special Requirements:
This job requires a minimum of three months of experience performing the agricultural activities listed. The worker may be required to lift product weighing up to and including 50 pounds. Workers should be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements. Work is performed outdoors in open fields which can involve exposure to sun, wind, mud, dust, heat, cold and other elements of the normal field environment. Temperatures can range from 20 degrees F to over 100 degrees F during the period of employment. Workers should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the work and working conditions described.
