Job Duties:
Job includes custom harvesting duties at the locations listed in this application, driving trucks from the fields to the silage pit, fueling trucks, helping service trucks, tractors, and silage chopper. Employees will operate service pickups, packing tractors. Packing tractor drives back and forth over the silage pile to compact the silage and push the air out. After silage harvest employees will move onto corn harvest and will haul corn to the elevator or bin. Duties also include manual labor such as servicing trucks, greasing, blowing radiator, airing up tires, tire repair, cleaning out trucks, and washing truck windows. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Must have 3 months of experience, the ability to obtain a driver’s license within 30 days of hire, and ability to perform mechanical repair and maintenance. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer. Salt Creek Silage, LLC will provide, at no cost to workers, an effective means of communicating with persons capable of responding to the workers needs in case of an emergency. This will come in the form of radios in the farm vehicles.
