- Job Duties:
- Job duties will include cleaning of equipment. General Observations of sick and injured livestock, water and feeding supplies, climate condition necessities, bedding, wind breaks, usage of snow removal equipment when conditions warrant., brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps, Transporting livestock: pickups, stock trailers, gators, 4-wheelers, walking from field to field. Manure hauling and cleaning feed bunks: from feeding area facilities. to distribute feed to animals, examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain, feeding of Livestock: pasture and grasses, hay hauling, feed hauling. Assist with newborn baby calves including pulling calves, feeding, tagging, castrating, scours, vaccinations, implants, dehorning and branding, herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences, mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos, mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions, move equipment, poultry, or livestock from one location to another, manually or using trucks or carts, patrol grazing lands , perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate timeframes, performing artificial inseminations, and helping with animal births, segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition, shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food, spray livestock with disinfectants and insecticides, or dip or bathe animals, care for animals, examine animals to detect illness, injury or other problems. Fencing: fixing and repairing permanent fencing, temporary fencing, electric fencing around corn stalks and pasture/grasses, portable corral fencing. Equipment and facilities: general maintenance of feeding, hauling, and moving equipment. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion.
