- Job Duties:
- Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as hay, wheat, corn, sugar beets, silage, edible beans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops into trailers and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Attend to live farm animals including cattle such as weaning and preg checking; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools.
