- Job Duties:
- Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as
working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles,
implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and
self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as combine, planter, sprayer, to
plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans,
silage, wheat, hay; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to
transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Haul dirt, manure,
fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and
landscaping; Attend to live farm animals including cattle such as feeding, watering, doctoring; Preg
check cows and heifers; Perform duties related to calving; Monitor cows for birthing issues; Check calf
health daily; Move snow and freshen bedding; Break ice in watering facilities; Care for cattle in
feedlot; Repair and maintain corrals, water and feed equipment; Sort cattle and haul cattle to
pastures; Repair, maintain, fashion farm structures such as fences; Mix materials, dump solutions or
seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools.
