- Job Duties:
- Employees maintain, repair, and overhaul equipment, including vehicles, tractors, pumps, packing equipment, and other farm equipment. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using appropriate tools. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with other employees to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Tune or overhaul engines. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, lathes, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery. Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.
Record details of repairs made and parts used. Machine/equipment operator: Individuals will be able to operate machinery including tractors as directed and trained by supervisory personnel.
6 months experience, education, or training/orientation is required in order to qualify for any of the above referenced positions.
Repair and maintenance of equipment: Individuals will be skilled at general maintenance and repair of harvest equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, setup, cleaning, and repairs on pack house equipment.
Perform computer record keeping, possession and use of Commercial Driver’s License, perform maintenance and minor repairs on tractors, trucks, and forklifts.
