- Job Duties:
- Attends to overall care of Thoroughbred racehorses in training at the farm prior to sales at the public auctions. Will be responsible for the safety of the horses and nearby workers. Will assist in the observations of any aliments or infections which may affect the horses. Will administer medications under the direction of the farm manager. May use bandages which assists in the application of topical medications, rehabilitation exercises or intravenous medications. Prior to the sale of the race horses, the horses will be prepped by clipping away any unwanted hair from the horses' manes, ankles, noses and ears. Will do daily bathing, conditioning, treating of any soreness and standing and walking of the horses for inspection by perspective buyers.
