- Job Duties:
- Aust Land & Cattle LLC is a cow-calf operation in east-central Kansas based in Linn County, Kansas. We are seeking seasonal workers to assist on our cow-calf operation. The operation consists of Fall through Spring (September-June). The calving seasons are the busiest times of the year. Our calving seasons occur twice a year, mid-September to late October and early April-May. Cows are pulled prior to calving into confined feeding facilities. While confined, and not able to graze in a pasture, we must manually feed and water the cows until released back into the pastures which is July-August. During the summer months of July and August activities are much slower, and help is not needed. Once in pastures, no manual feeding and watering is required. Employees will need to be involved in calving preparation and health checks during young stages as well as maintenance, feeding and health activities as they progress in age. Employees will need to assist with daily feeding, health checks and processing of calves. Employees assist with haying and moving of feed to commodity sheds. Employees will operate a variety of equipment, such as wheel loaders, feed trucks, skid steers and/or tractors with hay equipment to haul and feed the calves. Employees will complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment.
