- Job Duties:
- Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery; Operate or tend self propelled
equipment (much of which is equipped with GPS) used in agricultural production such as
tractor, swather, baler, combine, etc. for duties such as fertilizing, planting, weeding,
harvesting, storing crops such as hay, soybeans, corn, silage; Drive trucks to haul crops,
supplies, tools to and from storage and market facilities; Inspect, maintain, and repair
equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences; Clean work areas; Irrigate soil;
Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies; Herd livestock to pastures for
grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures; Monitor animals for illness, injury, or disease;
Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags; Segregate animals
according to weight, age, color, or physical condition; Move equipment or livestock from one
location to another; Perform duties related to calving.
