- Job Duties:
- Manually plant, cultivate, & harvest crops including but not limited to vegetables; tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, greens, cucumbers, lettuce, hemp, squash & herbs. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, & knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate spray & harvest crops. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Harvest vegetables by hand. Apply pesticides or fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, & weeds to determine the selection & application of pesticides & fertilizers. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Record information about crops, such as pesticides use, yields or costs. Day of rest & start & end time may vary. The total number of workers requested represents the combined total from all of the employer’s applications. However, for this specific Job Order, the employer only needs 22 H-2A workers.

- Special Requirements:
- Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Must have three months verifiable experience in the job duties described herein. Applicants must furnish verifiable job references or comparable third-party documentation from recent employers to establish acceptable prior experience. This requirement will be applied equally to all new foreign and domestic candidates.
